COVID-19 Preparedness

COVID-19 Preparedness

Are your doctors taking the necessary precautions to combat COVID-19?

Here are 50 insightful comments from patients at practices using rater8:

Crowdsource COVID-19 Patient Feedback At No Cost

Summary:

One of the most common complaints is that patients are given iPads to complete their check-in and the devices often are not disinfected between each use.  Also, there are common concerns about crowded waiting rooms, areas that appear to not be wiped down, and reused pens.

On the positive side, many patient are very complimentary at the steps practices are taking to keep them safe.  They love when waiting room chairs are spread out, staff regularly wipe down office surfaces, and providers educate patients on protecting themselves from the virus.

4 I thought they were very friendly and prompt in the preparing me for my visit with the doctor. And also with the coronavirus scare going around I thought they took more than adequate efforts to keeping the room and surrounding area clean and sanitized Happy the room was clean and sanitized.
5 It took over a month to get in to see him. I thought about cancelling due to the coronavirus but the pain was bad. The office was set up with chairs spaced out for patient safety. Hand sanitizer and outside seating was also provided. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. [redacted] easily analyzed my situation and we are trying other methods before talking about knee replacement. I had a reaction to the cortisone and my husband’s call to the office was handled efficiently. Following best practices
5 Great options during this virus situation. Able to wait in your car or a correctly spaced waiting room. Following best practices
1 Didn’t feel comfortable at all. I have had several ultrasound before at other offices never did I feel this way. She was very upset it seemed to even be working during coronavirus outbreak. I will not ever go to [redacted] again. Everyone has things in there life going on. I also was concerned about Caronavirus but didn’t need the anger and attitude from someone performing such an intrusive procedure:( I do not want her to get reprimanded, I just wanted to express my opinion. Provider not showing empathy
2 Noticed some trash on the waiting area floor. Cup of community pens to sign in on front desk. Did not seem like there were any additional measures to limit contact or social distancing during covid19 outbreak Best practices not implemented
2 I was extremely concerned that I had to fill out paperwork using a clipboard & pen that were not being sanitized between patients. None of my info has changed so I had to risk exposure to COVID-19 virus when re submitting info you already have. The building & equipment were clean and I appreciated that tissues, hand sanitizer, gloves & masks were available. Best practices not implemented
4 Staff are always friendly & efficient. I appreciate that with the COVID-19 issue I was in and out reasonably quickly. See my concern re filling out paperwork – you need to change how this is done. Maybe online prior to visit Best practices not implemented
5 Everything was smooth and timely. My only complaint was, and it has nothing to do with [redacted]. While waiting to get called back, another patient comes in and sits down right next to me! The whole waiting room was empty! This, I thought, was very ignorant considering all the precautions being laid out because of this CoronaVirus. Best practices not implemented

5 I’ve seen Dr [Redacted] a couple times throughout my pregnancy, always a good experience. With all of the chaos and anxiety surrounding COVID-19, she did a phenomenal job of going through hypotheticals with my upcoming delivery and risk management for myself and my family. While these times are uncertain I feel 10 times better having been under her care. She didn’t sugar coat a thing but relied on evidence to explain where we are at. 1 We are going through a very scary time with the Coronavirus. It is new territory for all of us. The front end check in part of the practice is obviously not in sync with the back end (doctor). I received a text asking if I had a cough. 3 people said it was ok to come. Girl on phone, girl at entrance to practice who was taking temperatures and girl who I paid. All 3 knew I had a cough. There is a communication breakdown at this practice. Importance of timeliness to ease patient fears of spending time next to other patients
4 My only comment is that the use of iPADS might spread viruses among patients because so many people touch the screen for check-in, specially during winter time. Need to place more hand sanitizers for patients. Best practices not implemented
