TTYL GMB: The Google My Business App is Retiring...

Google shared in late 2021 that Google My Business (GMB) has a new name: Google Business Profile. Google also announced the GMB app’s upcoming 2022 retirement, citing an “upgraded experience” available via Google Search and the Google Maps app, which will ultimately replace the GMB app. While a specific date for the GMB app’s retirement has not yet been disclosed, Google is beginning to push users to manage their Google Business Profiles through Search and Maps. Google’s help center explains how users can do just that.

Google+, Google Local, GMB—whatever you want to call it, the importance of having an up-to-date Google Business Profile isn’t changing anytime soon. Google accounted for 86% of global search traffic in December 2021.
